Social Inclusion, Gender, and Development (SID)

 

Social Inclusion, Gender, and Development (SID) is a flagship program of the Center for Risk and Resilience (C2R). The program deals with central issues of social inclusion, gender, diversity, equality, equity, and other dimensions of social reality that shape sustainable development. The program studies and analyzes the contemporary discourses of inequality, inclusion, and social justice to deal with various dimensions of risks and resilience. Understanding risks and building resilience requires in-depth, situation-specific, and contextualized accounts of reality that are being helped through gender, culture, religion, ethnicity, social stratification, power, and diverse other dimensions.

This program looks into these matters in applying state of art methodologies and put forwards recommends dynamically developing and adjusting/transforming policies and actions in understanding risks and endeavors of resilience. This program of the center offers technical services, evidence-based programming, and inclusive actions.

The program aligns itself with the respective developments of the discourses and efforts of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), rights-based actions, and equitable programming for the present and coming future. The program includes diverse issues in its action in an exhaustive manner to answer the cutting-edge discourses, practices, and actions relating to some of the issues mentioned below: 

  • Gender transformation

  • Gender-responsive actions

  • Gender and diversity

  • Gender-based violence

  • Right-based programming

  • Sex, Age, Disability Data (SADD)

  • Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

  • Socio-economic analysis

  • Monitoring, evaluation, and Learning 

  • Social protection measures

  • Child-Centered programming

  • Socially vulnerable group (SVG) related programming (e.g. for women, children, girls, boys, elderly population, etc.)

  • Livelihoods and economy

  • Pro-gender risk financing

  • Social change and social transformations

  • Pilot projects in any relevant areas 

  • Global/regional networking & advocacy (e.g. AMCDRR, GPDRR, COP, WSSD, CBA, CBD & other conferences, events, network workshops, and knowledge-sharing events in a dynamic manner)

  • Various training and capacity-building programs on emerging issues of Gender, diversity, inclusion, and social development (in collaboration with C2R's corporate TRP, CDR, and TIP programs)

  • And, undertakes a host of other contemporary issues.
